Welcome to BHCS
Principal’s Message
Awanadjo, the small, misty mountain we know as Blue Hill. On a clear day, you can stand at the front entrance of our school, turn slightly to the left and look upwards and you will see her rise above the treeline, keeping watch over our school. At BHCS, the values, traditions and history of our community are carried forward to the next generation in the shadow of our town’s defining feature. Rarely a day goes by that I am not momentarily forced to pause and appreciate how fortunate I am to work in such a place.
Here at Blue Hill Consolidated School we are committed to providing the absolute best education for our students. Our school day includes rigorous academics that challenge and engage students, a robust program of arts and humanities that helps them discover a love for creative expression, and a variety of extracurricular activities including athletics, theater, and robotics, to name just a few. In addition to all of these opportunities, the BHCS faculty is committed to providing learning outside the traditional classroom. You will find our students exploring historic landmarks around the peninsula, engaging in hands-on science in our local streams and along our coastline and yes, even hiking up Blue Hill Mountain.
The programs, curriculum and activities we offer wouldn’t be possible without the incredible staff and faculty you will meet in our corridors and classrooms. As you travel around our school, you are likely to see a variety of engaging activities across the grade levels. You’ll find kindergarteners learning about their community, first grade students discovering the joy of reading, third graders mastering their multiplication tables, fifth graders choosing their first band instrument and eighth graders conducting lab experiments. All the while, being guided, encouraged, and taught by our exceptional teachers.
Please contact us if you would like to know more about our school. It truly is an amazing place to grow, learn, and thrive.
Sincerely,
Kyle Snow, Principal
