Blue Hill Sculpture
The next Symposium will be held in the Summer of 2011, and will create sculpture for towns in Washington and Hancock counties. Blue Hill has been selected as one of six communities to receive a sculpture from this third of five planned Symposia. Following an unanimous vote of the Blue Hill Selectmen, a committee of residents, business owners and representatives from local organizations was charged with selecting a town owned site, generating community support and raising $15,000 from private donations. These funds will cover the Town's contribution to the Symposium in exchange for a sculpture estimated to be worth more than $80,000.
